    THE JOURNEY
Be it a dive 'safari' (as a cruise is called in the Maldives) or simply a relaxing cruise, the journey is filled with adventure and interesting discoveries. For those seeking the mystical unknowns of these islands, a cruise is the best way to discover the real Maldives and the concealed treasures within the reefs of this archipelago. With most favourable conditions for sailing and warm weather, a cruise in the Maldives is indeed a very beautiful experience.
WHAT DO YOU DO ON A SAFARI?
The utmost experience in having a really laid back and relaxing holiday! In tune with the rhythm of the sunny islands, you will be filling your days with as much or as little activity as you wish. You may wish to lie sunning on the deck or read those books you never found time for, or you may be diving 3 or 4 times a day!!

It's all up to the individual and depends on the holiday that you book. You could very well be walking around on uninhibited islands or getting acquainted with the locals in the fishing villages!

Don't forget the possibility to visit resort islands to join in the various evening entertainment and add in the many barbecues on uninhibited islands under starry tropical skies! The best thing about a cruise is that you are not restricted to one island or to a certain number of dives sites.

HOW DO YOU CHOOSE A SAFARI BOAT?
How would you like it to be? There are about 100 cruising vessels registered in the Ministry of Tourism and they all vary in size, facilities and the level of comfort offered on board. The secret of a perfect cruising holiday lies in your choice of the type of boat for the vacation. While all boats provide basic facilities like electricity and fresh water for showers, some provide more than the mere essentials and can have restaurants, bars and evening entertainment on board.
    THE RANGE OF SAFARI BOAT
The range of boats offer vary from the smaller 3 cabin sailing boat to the bigger 75 cabin cruise ship, and of course the on board facilities and services vary from rather basic to exclusive.

The smaller boats usually cater for groups of 6 to 8 people and are ideal if you plan to travel with a group of friends. Here you also have more flexibility in the itinerary of the cruise. The medium range of safari boats usually accommodates around 12 to 18 people. Some of these often have air-conditioned cabins and hot water showers.

    TRANSPORT
Transfers between the islands are either by dhoni, (local boats), speedboats, or seaplanes. The transfers for visitors with confirmed reservations in the Maldives will be arranged by your host resort (cost vary by mode and distance from airport)
    EXCURSIONS
An ideal way to make more of this rare experience is to discover more of the Maldives by taking part in the different excursions organised by your host resort. You could visit a local fishing village and interact with the friendly native, try your luck on a night fishing trip, or spend the day in Male', the capital. The opportunities are plenty and the choice is yours.
